Fire access roads subsidy scheme works – Glenelg

Works on 2014 funded projects is drawing to a conclusion with the finish of projects at Lang St Dartmoor and at Lindsay Road Lindsay.

The Dartmoor project involves the construction of water filling point from the main water supply system in town and is suited to the deployment of large strike teams, whilst the Lindsay project involves the installation of fire fighting storage tanks in a remote area with limited water supplies. A further project at Fire Station Road Bridgewater is undergoing further consideration.

Project applications for 2015 were evaluated and the committee endorsed four projects for further consideration. These included water point access at Milton Road Heywood, construction on Arundell Road Casterton, water access works at Keiller’s Beach Road Allestree and further water storage at Lindsay Road Lindsay. These projects are being submitted for further consideration at a state level and advice is expected by the middle of this year.
