Fire at Image Linemarking factory
A company that applies road line markings and produces products used in the industry suffered significant damage to their factory and equipment by fire last night.
CFA were called to Image Linemarking in Amberley Crescent Dandenong South just after 10.00pm on 12 November.
District 8 Operations Officer John Francis said there were a number of workers inside the factory when the fire broke out and all escaped without injury.
"There was a considerable amount of paint thinner inside the structure, which is highly flammable," he said.
A number of specialist vehicles inside the factory were either damaged or destroyed and a large quantity of paint stock and shelving were also lost.
Incident Controller Darren Padgett from Dandenong Fire Brigade directed his crews to use foam to extinguish the flammable liquid fire at the rear and then perform an external attack as the roof of the structure began to weaken.
Police and Ambulance crews also attended along with the power company to isolate the building. Fire Investigators were to assess the site in the morning but the cause of the fire is not deemed suspicious.
Brigades responded from Hallam, Dandenong and Frankston with around 25 fire-fighters involved.
