Fire at Kilsyth school

A fire which broke out at a school in Kilsyth is now under control.

CFA was called to the incident in Cambridge Road just after 7.00pm today (July 11).

The fire was in a corridor between two buildings near the school’s library. It spread to the roof space which has been significantly damaged.

The fire was brought under control in around 30 minutes.

Crews will remain on scene for some time cleaning up and ensuring the site is safe.

The cause of the fire remains unknown and will be
investigated.

About 30 firefighters from Bayswater, Lilydale, Montrose, Mooroolbark and Mt Evelyn attended the fire.
