Fire at Myrtleford school

200 children and staff have been safely evacuated from St Mary's Primary School in Myrtleford after fire extensively damaged two classrooms.

CFA crews from Myrtleford, Bright, Buffalo River, Gapstead, Mudgegonga, Ovens-Eurobin,Porepunkah, Rosewhite, Wondonga and Bowen Murmungee were called to the fire around 1pm this afternoon (Monday, 21 October).

It took firefighters just over an hour to bring under control, who worked hard to ensure the fire didn't spread to other parts of the school.

Fire Investigators have been called to try and determine the cause of the fire.
