Fire at Violet Town

Firefighters are working to control a 50 hectare fire at Violet Town.

20 trucks and five field command vehicles are at the scene as well as two water bombers and a support aircraft. Hancock's Plantation vehicles are also assisting.

District 22 Operations Officer Tony Owen said smoke was very visible from the Hume Freeway.

No cause has been established, police are on scene.
