Fire Awareness winners 2013
After receiving an incredible number of applications, winners for the 2013 Fire Awareness Awards have been announced.
Awards were presented during a ceremony last night at the RACV City Club in Melbourne, where award winners, finalists and grant recipients celebrated alongside senior members of the fire agencies and ministerial representatives.
CFA Chief Officer Euan Ferguson said the quality of this year’s entries showed the community was really enthusiastic about enhancing fire awareness and safety across Victoria.
“I would like to congratulate all of our winners and those who entered the Fire Awareness Awards. For many of the project drivers, it was not part of their job. They were volunteers or community groups dedicating their time to improving fire safety, preparedness, response and recovery.”

The RACV Insurance Award for Excellence is awarded to one project that stands out for making a particularly significant and innovative contribution to promoting fire awareness in the community. The winner of this award is Warrandyte Community Association for its Be Ready Warrandyte − Living with Bushfire Risk project.

The Fire Awareness Awards recognise the extraordinary work of individuals, groups and organisations in their efforts to reduce the effect of fires in Victoria. The awards have been presented for over 25 years, as a collaborative venture between Victoria’s fire agencies – CFA, MFB, DEPI and the Fire Services Commissioner.
