Fire destroys home in Portarlington
Early this morning (Thursday, 5 January) CFA crews received a call out to a house fire on Fenwick Street in Portarlington.
The call came in around 7.45am and the fire was called under control by 8.30am.
The single-storey home was unable to be saved, being completely destroyed by the fire.
Crews conducted an external attack on the house with firefighters wearing breathing apparatus.
Although the home was not able to be saved, crews did manage to contain the fire to the one property and no surrounding assets were damaged.
Police attended the incident for traffic control.
A fire investigator will arrive on the scene shortly to determine the cause of the fire.
Ten CFA trucks from Corio, Drysdale, Geelong, Ocean Grove, Portarlington and St Leonards attended the incident.
