Crews worked hard to contain a fire spread among several units in the early hours of Monday morning (10 Dec) in Noble Park.

Police came across the fire in Corrigan Road around 2:40am and tried to alert the residents. Fortunately no one appeared to actually be living in the newly constructed units but the contents were of interest to the police.

Crews from Springvale, Dandenong, Noble Park and Frankston attended the call and were successful in containing the fire to the existing block without it affecting neighbours. Firefighters in breathing apparatus worked around the building but had limited success applying water to the exact spot on the upper floors.

Dandenong Ladder Platform was called in to assist and once setup was able to direct water where it was most needed from above. Incident Controller Jones from Springvale brigade worked with police to minimise disturbing the contents of the buildings.

The cause of the fire is being assessed by police and fire investigators. Corrigan Road was blocked to all traffic as power and gas companies' isolated services.
