Fire services join for a good cause
With Easter fast approaching, fire services are gearing up for another big year fundraising for the Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal.
As part of their fundraising efforts for the appeal, CFA and MFB will again host the annual 'Two Services, One Cause' relay.
This is the 4th year CFA and MFB running clubs have come together to raise money for the appeal with both fire services looking for more participants to join the relay.
The relay for 2013 will begin at 7.00am on Thursday, 28 March and finish at 9.00pm the same day.
As part of the relay, teams will have a CFA and an MFB runner completing a lap, or several laps, of a block in Melbourne’s CBD.
The aim of the run is to raise awareness of the Good Friday Appeal and to fundraise for a worthy cause.
If you're not up for running, organisers of the event are also looking for more people to rattle tins to raise money throughout the relay.
Last year the event raised $22,066.45. More than 350 laps were run, just over 350km - the equivalent of running from the CBD to Albury-Wodinga border.
