Fire station break-ins
The Riddells Creek and the Bolinda-Monegeetta CFA fire stations were both broken into and ransacked overnight.
Police are currently at both fire stations which have been declared crime scenes to ascertain what items have been taken.
A recent model four wheel drive support vehicle was taken from Riddells Creek station and set alight in Melton around 6:15am this morning.
Both these brigades were heavily involved in the Mickleham to Kilmore fires earlier this year and it is devastating that essential fire-fighting equipment that services the community has been taken.
Further information will be released by Vicpol once investigations are complete.
Police would like the community to be on the lookout for any suspicious activities seen around fire stations and contact them if they become aware of anyone who may be able to help with their inquiries.
