Firefighter Stair Climb 2014
The Inaugural Melbourne Fire fighter Stair Climb is coming up fast on September 7th 2014 and will be held at Crown Metropol Hotel in Melbourne.
Registrations are still open for participants.
Why not grab some mates/associates and compete as a team. (All team members must be from the same station / local brigade e.g. Cranbourne Fire Brigade, Werribee Fire Brigade etc)
A team entry is achieved when a minimum of three competitors register from the same station - There is no limit to team size.
Or compete individually for a unique challenge.
The aim of the event is to raise $100,000 for The Alfred Hospital Burns Unit to assist in upgrading equipment and facilities and to further enhance Melbourne's world-class burns facility.
The event will see career and volunteer firefighters come from all over Australia and internationally to ascend 28 flights of stairs in full structural firefighting protective clothing and wearing self-contained breathing apparatus .
To be eligible to compete in the Melbourne Firefighter Stair Climb, competitors must be currently employed or volunteer in the active role of a firefighter.
Firefighters must be fully fit to compete and be at least 18 years of age on the day of the event.
