Fires in far east Gippsland, Orbost
About 12 small fires were started by lightning in far east Gippsland last night.
DSE firefighters are attending these fires.
Three of the fires are seven kilometres north of Orbost in the Mount Buck area and six are in the Murrungowar foothills, 20 kilometres north-east of Orbost. Other fire reports are yet to be confirmed by reconnaissance flights this morning.
DSE crews have contained four of the fires and drizzly rain overnight may extinguish more.
Conditions in the area are damp and benign and the fires are in remote
