Firing Up Women Small Grants Program

Assistant Chief Officer Gavin Thompson announced today (Monday 2 October) the Firing Up Women Small Grants Program in the North West Region.

The grants program has been created to provide opportunities for brigades and groups in the region to fund initiatives that celebrate and showcase women in CFA or enhance female leadership skills and capability.

“We look forward to the initiatives that brigades and groups come up with to support our female members across the region," said ACO Thompson. "This may also be an opportunity for brigades and groups to recognise the valuable contributions of our female members to CFA and our broader communities."

The program is open to all brigades and groups across the region. Brigades and groups may apply, either individually or in partnership, for grants of up to $1000.

“We encourage applications for initiatives that may boost female participation in brigades and groups, further support female members to enter leadership roles or inspire our female community members to volunteer with CFA,” added ACO Thompson.

Applications opened on Monday 2 October 2017 and close on Monday 13 November 2017. Applicants will be notified of the outcome in December 2017.
