The CFA Board has now held an initial meeting to consider the Professor Joy Report (into historical use of chemicals for live firefighting training at Fiskville between 1971 and 1999) and discussed management's progress on a detailed CFA response.

The meeting was productive and the Board will meet again soon for further discussions and to finalise the response.
The independent report and CFA's response will be released publicly together in the near future.

This is an important report and I know some CFA people will be anxious to see it.

It is a significant piece of work and the Board still need some time to consider it properly and prepare a detailed CFA response.
The report was handed to CFA last Thursday (28 June).

CFA's main priority since health allegations about Fiskville were made via media in December 2011 has been its responsibility for the welfare of its people, past and present, and their families.

Anyone member wanting welfare support should call the CFA hotline on 1800 628 616. Information is also available to the public.
