After 18 months of planning and training, Tony’s Trek is now well underway.

Inspector-General for Emergency Management Victoria and Chair of the Emergency Services Foundation Tony Pearce started the 1,440km journey on 10 March, taking off from the State Control Centre in East Melbourne.

Now over one-third of the way through, Tony is taking one step at a time to raise much needed funds and awareness for the Emergency Services Foundation – enabling them to introduce innovative ways to help prevent serious mental injury.

From Melbourne to Mallacoota to Wodonga and back to Melbourne, Tony is traveling through many areas affected by Victoria’s 2019–20 Black Summer bushfires, acknowledging the mental health impacts that those fires had, and continue to have, on emergency personnel and community members alike.

Stopping in at many CFA stations along the way, Tony has been supported by emergency services personnel from across the entire sector as he makes his journey.
