The Australasian Police and Emergency Services Games’ opening ceremony which coincided with the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal, kicked off with a bang.  The skies opened up right on time, presenting perfect conditions for the 3000 Australasian representatives to march towards the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Open to all members of the public, the ceremony included static truck displays, music and speeches with 'the voice of the AFL' Craig Willis as the MC. The event was broadcast on Channel 7 as part of the annual Good Friday telethon and $5 of all registrations were donated to the cause.

With over 155 participants, CFA had a significant presence among the competitors, waving the flag high and proud. With such a great start to the Games, CFA is looking forward to bringing home excellent results.
