On Tuesday 29 October members from brigades in and around the Geelong area attended a training night at Corio Fire Station, to give new as well as the older members the chance to see and inspect the different tankers CFA has in use at the moment.

Story by Firefighter Adam Heddle

The evening was attended by 38 members coming from brigades at Lara, Corio, Stonehaven, Bannockburn, Werribee, Geelong City, Lovely Banks end Geelong West

The night evolved after talking to some newer members of the CFA who were unsure of how some of the tankers differ from each other and their capability. With summer only around the corner and resources being sent to NSW with mixed crews from different brigades, it helps to strengthen relationships. The evening also gave members the chance to see and give feedback on one of the new 4.4 proto type tanker. After seeking some feedback on the night it will hopefully become an annual event in the District.

Thanks for the evening has to go to members from brigades that attended and the DMOs and brigades the supplied the tankers for the evening which made the night possible.
