Becoming a regular member within the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard takes dedication and commitment, and this month at Coast Guard Carrum’s (VF07) monthly flotilla meeting, three young provisional members were rewarded for their commitment and enthusiasm by being sworn in as regular members.

Coast Guard Carrum would like to congratulate our new “young blood”:  Cambell Horne, Martin Paczkowski and Tran Thai (left to right) on their hard work and dedication and look forward to their continued contributions to the flotilla moving forward.

To become a regular member, provisional members need to complete six training sessions, six duty days and attend six monthly meetings, before being nominated to and then accepted by the Victorian Squadron.

Coast Guard Carrum’s new young guardians successfully completed the above requirements and are a welcome boost to Coast Guard Carrum’s membership, and help to dispel the myth that Coast Guard is only for older members of the community!

Coast Guard Carrum, one of the busiest flotillas in Victoria, is currently seeking new members to join their ranks and would like to invite any interested members to contact the flotilla.

Volunteering has a meaningful, positive impact on your community, so why not consider joining?

The Australian Volunteer Coast Guard values the uniqueness and diversity of every individual and welcomes any inquiries you may have.

It guards the coast in the most effective way: by education; example; examination; and finally by search and rescue. Want more information or want to become a part of Coast Guard?  Phone 0417 765 772 for more information.
