Get ready for reflash
To prepare for the transition to CFA's new digital radio network, all CFA Tait radios will be updated with new software to enable them to work on the new network.
Radios that are not updated cannot access Dispatch channels on the digital network.
Completing the reflash is a requirement for each District to enable it to transition. Once radios are reflashed, they will operate in the same manner as at present. Changes to radio functionality will only occur once a District transitions to the new digital radio network.
Reflashing will be undertaken by teams working through each District, supported by five Regional Co-ordinators. Regional Co-ordinators will be responsible for co-ordinating the reflash schedule and contacting Brigades and Members to confirm when radios will be reflashed.
Reflashing will be scheduled to minimise impacts on Members and assistance to make radios available for reflash when requested will be greatly appreciated. In preparation for the reflash program, Members who have been allocated a bag or portable radio are encouraged to confirm its location so that it can be made available for reflash when requested.
