Get set for National Volunteer Week
With National Volunteer Week (9-15 May) just around the corner, CFA has planned a wide range of activities and events to celebrate our members’ achievements.
CFA is one of the world’s largest volunteer based organisations with more than 55,000 people from across the state and all walks of life giving their time to serve the community.
From brigades protecting small country towns to suburbia, and our highly trained specialist units, volunteers truly are the backbone of CFA. They provide the capacity and skills needed to let us serve almost two thirds of Victorians.
This year we’ll be saying “thank you” to volunteers with tours of the State Control Centre, special offers through memberlink, a variety of local activities and the launch of a new coffee table book, Community – the essence of CFA, which will be sent to each district and made available online.
We’ll also be highlighting individual firefighter’s stories that demonstrate the commitment and professionalism our volunteers provide every day, around the state.
So as National Volunteer Week approaches we’d like everyone in the community to join us in thanking volunteers for their selfless contributions.
