Get set for the Championships
CFA brigades from across Victoria will have the chance to test their mettle, as the countdown begins to the State Urban and Rural championships.
Local and district competitions based on practical firefighting activities are a 140 year old tradition in Victoria.
This year more than 140 brigades will take part in the Urban Championships, with teams coming from as far away as Western Australia.
Entries will soon open for the Rural Championship as well.
This year the competitions will be held in:
- Urban Junior Championships: Tatura, 27-28 February
- Urban Senior Championships: Mildura, 12-14 March
- Rural Championships: Colac, 2-3 April.
The competitions test brigades’ fitness, cohesion and skills with hoses, hydrants and other equipment.
New initiatives and some existing projects will also be on show as part of 'CFA on Display', along with:
- Free health checks
- Heat health information
- Member engagement projects
- CFA merchandise for sale
- Vehicle display
- Member Service Centre
The Urban Junior and Rural Championships will feature a quiz and scavenger hunt. Children will also have the opportunity to learn more about healthy eating and an active lifestyle through the Fit Kidz program.
Details about regional competitions can also be found on the VFBV website.
