Haddon brigade's new tanker and extension opening
On Sunday 15 May, Haddon Fire Brigade officially opened its extension and was handed its 2.4C tanker.
The day started with a big crowd of members and the community. MC Reinhard Pohl welcomed everyone. He then welcomed CFA Board Member John Schurink to the lectern. John addressed the audience about volunteerism and how great facilities and equipment will help the brigade in the great work they already do. He then introduced Geoff Howard MLA for Buninyong who reiterated the great work our volunteers do.
Mr Howard then officially handed the keys over to Captain Graeme Morris.
Mayor of Golden Plains Shire and Grenville Group Officer Des Phelan then addressed the crowd and asked Graeme and Mr Howard to join him in cutting the ribbon to officially open the extension.
Graeme then thanked everyone and explained that the extra space of the storage room and extended meeting room was needed because the township and brigade are growing fast.
Everyone was then invited to inspect the facilities, the tanker and enjoy some afternoon tea.
The tanker was funded through the CFA Replacement Program and the extension was funded through VESEP and the fundraising effort of Haddon Fire Brigade.
