Hay shed fire in Tyrendarra East
CFA firefighters attended a large hay shed fire yesterday morning (15 October) at Tyrendarra East on Princes Highway.
Crews were called to the fire at approx. 9am and it was under control by 2.30pm.
The hay shed was 100m x 30m in size, with around 1,200 of last year’s hay bales stored inside.
District 5 Duty Officer Steve Giddens said CFA crews responded quickly to the incident, and worked hard to save the structure from being destroyed.
19 trucks attended the incident, including three water tankers and Warrnambool’s aerial appliance.
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated.
