Hoax CFA caller sentenced
CFA has congratulated Victoria Police on the successful prosecution of a man who was charged with 63 hoax calls to CFA.
Adam Bromley was convicted today in the Broadmeadows Magistrates’ Court with an 18-month community based order and fined $58,000 which is to be paid to CFA over 25 years.
CFA Chief Executive Officer Mick Bourke said the organisation condemns Mr Bromley’s behaviour.
“Any CFA member would find his actions are appalling and we take this very seriously,” he said.
“We understand Mr Bromley was a CFA volunteer for a short period of time back in 2005, well before the crimes were committed.
“We recognise the community holds great trust in CFA and its members. The community can never accept this behaviour and we’re pleased justice has been served.”
