CFA firefighters battled a house fire in Laanecoorie last night (30 March).
Crews were called to the scene at Eddington-Laanecoorie Road shortly after 7.30pm and found a house fully alight.
CFA District 20 Operations Manager Peter Taylor said the cause of the fire was accidental.
He said the owner was home at the time of the fire and was not harmed.
“The fire was brought under control at approximately 9.30pm,” Peter said.
“CFA crews will remain at the scene blacking out. With the assistance of a thermal imaging camera, firefighters are checking for hot spots.
“Everyone needs to pay attention to the small mistakes that can cause fires at home.
“Preventing a fire comes down to simple things like being aware. Every household should consider their fire safety practices and examine the potential risks around their home.”
Around eight trucks from Inglewood, Baringhup West, Woodstock West, Eddington, Tarnagulla and Bridgewater attended.
