Firefighters have been called to a house fire in Sale early this morning (15 August).
CFA crews were called to the scene at Maxfields Road shortly before 1.30am.
District 10 Operations Officer Peter Barr said firefighters worked well to contain the blaze.
“The house was 90 per cent involved when the first fire crew arrived and the fire was brought under control within 40 minutes,” Mr Barr said.
“Fortunately no one was injured and the occupants were able to evacuate the home.
“Firefighters donned breathing apparatus, and the Traralgon BA support vehicle attended.
“Smoke from the fire hung around more than usual in the surrounding streets, potentially due to the weather conditions.
Crews will remain on scene for an extended period of time this morning, monitoring hotspots.
“It’s important that residents check their smoke alarms, only working smoke alarms save lives.
“Make sure you test your smoke alarm each month, dust it yearly and replace it every ten years.
Fire investigators will be attending to determine the cause of the fire.
Police and Ambulance Victoria were also in attendance.
Nine CFA vehicles from Sale, Maffra, Stratford, Rosedale, Longford and Traralgon attended the incident.
