Incident at Port Fairy

A CFA truck has been damaged while firefighters were battling a house fire in Port Fairy this afternoon.

The cause of this is undergoing investigation by CFA fire investigators and technical experts.

CFA crews were called to the house fire on Campbell Street around 12.45pm.

Firefighters found the miners cottage fully involved in fire on arrival. The fire subsequently spread through the roof to an adjoining cottage.

The fire was brought under control at 2:22pm.

Nine CFA trucks were on scene.

Ambulance Victoria treated three people for smoke inhalation.

A service exchange vehicle has been provided to the Port Fairy brigade to ensure CFA’s service delivery to the community is maintained. 

The cause of both the house & vehicle fire will be investigated.
