The global volunteering community joined together last Wednesday to celebrate International Volunteer Day – and we worked with Volunteering Victoria to join a few volunteering representatives from different parts of Victoria to take part in an hour long forum on 774 ABC radio (digital).

Sue Noble, Volunteering Victoria CEO, Marg Joiner, Volunteer Program Manager from Zoos Victoria and Michael Chapman, Captain of Arthurs Creek fire brigade joined Sally Warhaft on the Conversation Hour between 11am-12pm to talk about the multifaceted world of volunteering.  The audio file is available to listen to at;

ABC studio 1 and many others joined the conversation via Twitter, creating an energetic Conversation Hour across media channels, contributing to the discussion via talkback and on twitter. International Volunteer Day was established in 1985 by the United Nations general Assembly.

Thankyou to our almost 60,000 volunteer members who protect lives and property 24x7.
