D8 brigades get into PAVS
Late last year, Upper Beaconsfield brigade hosted a Property Advice Visit Service training session with other local brigades in attendance.
Based on the few PAVS we have already completed (there are also residents waiting), it has been very beneficial to both the resident and brigade. It gives us the chance to look at properties close up, see what they have in place, find out if they have a fire plan, see what we may be confronted with if a fire or emergency takes place at that location and generally get to know the resident and property better.
It also gives us the chance to meet the locals on a more intimate level and we have been lucky enough to gain two new recruits this way. BONUS.
The property owners are grateful for our advice and information and feel a stronger connection to the brigade.
For those brigades who do have high risk levels for bushfire, I urge you to contact the PAVS team and undergo the brief training session and give it a go.
