Jones inquiry release
Our 59,000 volunteers are CFA's biggest resource and I know the release today of the Honourable David Jones' Inquiry into Effect of Arrangements made by CFA on its Volunteers will be of considerable interest to many of you.
I encourage you to read the report and also to let your fellow CFA members know where they can see it.

I would personally like to thank everyone who took part in this inquiry - especially our volunteer members - and I acknowledge your commitment to improving our great organisation.
CFA recently re-signed the Volunteer Charter, showing its commitment to volunteers and this inquiry will add to that by recommending important changes that will deliver lasting results.
I believe this inquiry was well balanced and has many targeted, relevant recommendations that will improve the experience of being a CFA volunteer and, most importantly, help us deliver a better service to the community.
Significantly, we know the report will target areas that we, as an organisation, are already committed to improving - and are improving - including training and resources.
I know this report will highlight a number of areas our members will be interested in or want to see improvements in - including service delivery standards - and these suggestios will be taken onboard.
