Kabaddi, a sport played by over 15 countires, came to St. Albans on the weekend. And CFA was able to be part of the action.

Kabaddi is a South Asian team sport, its name deriving from the Tamil language. The weekend's event drew large crowds from the  Indian community living in Melbourne's Northern and Western suburbs. Everyone was keen  to cheer on their local club members, and enjoy some delicious foods and free kids activities.

CFA was fortunate to be invited along to the event in partnership with MFB.  We were able to provide welcome children's activities such as colouring and free stickers.

A friendly face painter took shelter from the sun in our marquee, enabling us to talk to the parents of over 250 children about fire safety messages, and promote services such as phone Apps and VBIL.

The event organiser has since been in touch to let us know how appreciated our attendance was, and to arrange some CFA sessions with community members.

A sucessful day for both CFA and for the winning teams!
