Kalkallo keeps it creative
Painted into the town’s calendar, Kalkallo Fire Brigade’s Annual Art Show is on again this June long weekend.
Now in its 17th year, the event is a major fundraiser for the brigade with thousands of dollars being raised each year, helping to purchase much needed firefighting equipment.
“Each year it raises roughly $6000 which, over the years, has helped to purchase trucks and cars as well as furniture and equipment for the station,” Event organiser and former captain, Ned Pannuzzo said.
“It’s been getting bigger each year and has become a great fundraiser for the brigade as well as a good event for the community and the artists who come from all over.”
The Art Show is this year being supported by Evolve Development, who have provided space at the new, Annadale Estate in Mickleham for the event to be held.
Mr Pannuzzo said the Newlands Group have also assisted with the show as well as the many volunteer brigade members who year after year, help with the setting up and running of the event.
WHEN: June long weekend, 10.00am to 5.00pm on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 June.
WHERE: Annadale Estate, 495 Donnybrook Road, Mickleham.
Entry into the event is free. Devonshire tea will be available.
