CFA is currently attending a fire at a Transfer Station & Recycling Facility on George St near EASTLINK in Wantirna South. There is also an adjoining grass and scrub fire.
The incident started around 1.58pm.
As of 3:30pm, there were 20 CFA appliances and 6 MFB appliances on scene, with a further 4 CFA appliances on the way.
The fire is not yet under control.
The fire is issuing smoke.
Traffic is flowing normally on Eastlink as of 3:30pm.
Traffic around the scene is being managed by Victoria Police, and Ambulance Victoria is on standby.
There is currently no threat to the community, but motorists and residents are advised to stay informed and monitor conditions.
At 4:40pm the fire was declared UNDER CONTROL.
