Koori Inclusion Action Plan

During National Reconciliation Week 2015, CFA officially launched its very first Koori Inclusion Action Plan.

The Koori Inclusion Action Plan (KIAP) is a five year plan signed off by CFA’s Executive Leadership Team in early 2015.  The KIAP aims to promote inclusion of Aboriginal people and perspectives throughout everything we do, from volunteerism and employment to partnerships and service delivery by improving access and inclusion to services, programs, policies and procedures for the Victorian Aboriginal community, also referred to as the Koori community.

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) 2015 runs from May 27 to June 3.  The theme for 2015 is ‘It’s Time To Change It Up’.  NRW is celebrated across Australia each year between these dates to commemorate two significant milestones in the reconciliation journey – the anniversaries of the successful 1967 referendum and the High Court Mabo decision.  NRW is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements and to explore how each of us can join the national reconciliation effort.  To find out more about National Reconciliation Week 2015 please go to: http://www.reconciliation.org.au/nrw/

The KIAP was launched simultaneously across CFA using live video streaming of the launch at CFA Headquarters.  Each CFA District  organised an event to watch the live video streaming of the HQ launch and to then watch the KIAP film.

If you missed the event, you can still view the short film that was part of the launch.
