Large crop fire at Raywood

More than 20 trucks and a Helitak aircraft have controlled a cropfire which has burnt 60 hectares of mainly barley at Raywood, around 30 kilometres north of Bendigo.

The fire near Gunns Lane started just after 1pm and spread quickly south.

It took firefighters around 40 minutes to control.

Crews from Bendigo, Bridgewater, Campbells Forest, Dingee-Tandara, Eaglehawk, Elmore, Huntly, Inglewood, Jarklin, Kamarooka, Maiden Gully, Marong, Powlett Salisbury, Raywood, Serpentine and Woodvale fought the fire.

Investigations are underway into the cause .
