I'd like to inform you of the ‘FireReady Roadshow' which will be visiting over 40 community events around the state across ten weeks.

The aim of the FireReady Roadshow is to provide the community with one on one ‘face time' and the opportunity to ask questions and get local information.

These events will give people the chance to chat with their local fire agencies in an informal setting. The Roadshow schedule has been developed around local community events such as markets and festivals to increase foot traffic.

Events will include a sausage sizzle (conditions permitting), slushy machine and giveaways. There will also be kids activities taking place, giving parents some time to get the information they need.

The FireReady Roadshow is a whole-of-government campaign coordinated by the Department of Justice (DOJ), and should give people a better understanding of the role each agency performs around bushfire preparedness, response and recovery.

The Roadshow will demonstrate the government's commitment to working with the community, particularly in their local area, to educate and develop Bushfire Survival Plans.

There will be a strong CFA focus throughout the Roadshow and I'd like to encourage everyone to attend their local event where possible.

The FireReady Roadshow is supported by a DOJ media campaign and will be great exposure for CFA brigades.

Other stakeholders involved in the Roadshow include:

  • Office of Emergency Services Commissioner
  • Metropolitan Fire Brigade
  • Department of Primary Industries
  • Department of Education and Early Community Development
  • Department of Sustainability and Environment
  • Department of Health and Human Services
  • Department of Justice
  • Victoria Police
  • Municipal Association of Victoria
  • Fire Services Commissioner
  • Red Cross

The FireReady Roadshow is supported by a DOJ media campaign and will be great exposure for CFA brigades.

I hope you can attend a FireReady Roadshow event, and that we can make the most out of this great opportunity!
