9.20pm - A four hectare grass and scrub fire along Mallacoota Road (9km north-west of Mallacoota near Gipsy Point), was called in at 4.38pm today. DSE, CFA and NSW Rural Fire Service are on scene containing the fire.
The intensity of the fire has reduced from when the first emergency warning was issued to residents at 5.53pm, however crews are still working hard to create containment lines around the fire.
The fire was prevented from crossing Mallacoota Road due to the efforts of all fire agencies. Bomber aircraft was used in the fire fight. There are currently 20 firefighting vehicles on scene.
DSE crews will remain on scene overnight.
Mallacoota Road remains closed. No-one has been injured.
