Max 'Curly' Owen Golf Day 2013
The CFA Golf Club is proud to announce the return of the Max ‘Curly’ Owen Memorial Golf Days to be held at the exclusive Portsea Golf Club on Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th November 2013.
The event is held in memory of Max Owen, a former OIC of Dandenong Fire Brigade and Regional Officer of Region 26. Max was a popular man who has left a lasting legacy with CFA, not only through his own career and actions, but also through his children – three of whom are current serving CFA members - Operations Manager / Regional Commander Mike Owen, Operations Officer Tony Owen and Senior Station Officer Rick Owen.
Max was also a keen golfer who played off single figures at his best (despite standing on the wrong side of the ball!) and was an advocate for social interaction and fellowship amongst CFA people – and it is in this spirit that the golf days are played in his honour.
The event will be held over two separate days at the highly rated and exclusive Portsea Golf Club, and an invitation is extended to all CFA people (regardless of golfing ability) to come and enjoy a great day out.
The details of the days are as follows:
Option 1: Monday 18th November – 9.00am tee off.
Option 2: Tuesday 19th November - 10.45am tee off.
Venue: Portsea Golf Club - 46 London Bridge Road Portsea
Cost: $40 (includes golf, prizes, lunch & some refreshments)
RSVP: We are limited to 20 players per day so RSVP as soon as possible to secure a spot.
The cost of playing 18 holes on this course is normally $60 alone, so the entry fee of just $40 which includes 18 holes of golf, lunch, refreshments and the opportunity to take home some great prizes, vouchers and trophies whilst enjoying the company of fellow CFA people proves that this is an event not to be missed.
Further details regarding the event can be obtained by contacting Graeme Symons on 0402
Please Note: No golf handicap is required to participate in this event. Options to attend just for lunch without participating in the golf exist - please contact Graeme for further information. Entry for golf participants is required for only one day, not both. Please nominate which day you would prefer to play and you will be advised of availability of your preferred date as soon as practicably possible. This event is open to any CFA personnel (including volunteer, employee and retired members)
