The Member ID project team has been meeting with and briefing RMTs and district staff on the new Member ID system and the new TMP and Vehicle Sticker system to prepare for the rollout across the State.

MEMBER ID CARDS

The new IT system to support the Member ID application and authorisation process is being progressively deployed for all districts on CFA's intranet site ‘Brigades-on-Line'.  The system is now open to all members in the Loddon-Mallee, Grampians, Barwon South West and Eastern Metropolitan regions.  It will shortly be open for applications from all members in other regions.

As a by-product, the new ID system prompts members to update their contact details and, in the background, feeds any amendments into RMS.

Local volunteers are being engaged as Project Support Officers (PSOs) to assist with gathering and loading images during the pilot testing and to build local liaison capabilities.

Members in the Loddon-Mallee, Grampians and Eastern Metropolitan regions can contact PSOs in their district if they need assistance to apply for an ID card:

TMPs AND VEHICLE STICKERS

The 2011/12 TMP and Vehicle Sticker system is also currently being implemented across the State.

There are 5 elements in the new TMP system -

  1. the new Member photo ID cards
  2. the three kinds of vehicle stickers
    1. white sticker for CFA volunteer vehicles
    2. yellow sticker for private fire fighting equipment
    3. a NEW pink sticker for temporary access through an emergency services only TMP
  3. the Victoria Police TMP Information Card
  4. the CFA / DSE TMP identification card
  5. the interagency TMP guidelines

The new ID card does not itself provide access through a TMP.

To gain access through an "Emergency Services Only" TMP members will need their ID card OR a White CFA Member TMP vehicle sticker as well as their Personal Protective Clothing (PPC) and need to be part of the operational response to the incident.

The White CFA Member vehicle stickers are being distributed to all brigades so that members who do not yet have a photo ID can still gain access through a TMP.   For this fire season members will need either the new ID card OR the White CFA Member vehicle sticker to gain access through a TMP.

A TMP and Vehicle Sticker System information pack is being distributed to all brigades, districts, regions, ICCs and DivComms.  This information pack includes copies of each of the 5 elements, together with books of stickers for issue to volunteers and PFFE owners who may require access through a TMP as part of an operational response.

Brigades, ICC's and DivComms requiring additional books of stickers should contact district or region offices.
