Mens Health Week is coming
Men’s Health Week is a national event aimed at educating, promoting and raising awareness of all things to do with male health.
The 2016 Men’s Health Week theme is ‘health elements’ and focuses on encouraging communities to start those conversations about the elements of life that build health and life purpose. “The purpose of life is to contribute in some way to making things better” – Robert F. Kennedy
The focus on men’s health is inspired by the tragic statistics that show men, on average, suffer more illness, more accidents and die younger than women. Men’s Health Week has a direct focus on the health impacts of men’s and boys’ environments. It serves to ask two questions:
What factors in men’s and boys’ environments contribute to the status of male health?
How can we turn that around and create positive environments in men’s and boys’ lives?
Some events being held throughout Victoria in celebration of Men’s Health Week include Brimbank’s Men’s Health Day, Diamond Creek Parkrun, Casterton Golf Croquet Tournament, Hume Annual Luncheon and many more!
CFA realises the importance of raising awareness about events such as Men’s Health Week as they not only improve the mental and physical health of each individual reached by the program, but also the quality of our communities as a whole.
