Message from the CEO - Fire services reform update
It has now been more than two weeks since the Premier announced proposed reforms to fire services in Victoria.
In the days since, CFA leadership have been visiting stations and brigades as well as district and regional offices across the state to talk about the changes.
The Chief Officer has visited close to 30 brigades and stations so far.
We also had the Minister, the Hon. James Merlino MP, visit headquarters staff last week to talk about the reforms and importantly answer questions.
I know staff continue to have plenty of questions about how these reforms will affect CFA.
We have uploaded some of the most frequently asked questions here: http://www.cfa.vic.gov.au/about/fire-services-reform/#FAQs
Our Chief Officer Steve Warrington has also posted another video update on the reforms which can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/2asLi93dgt8
We will continue to work through the detail of the reform package and engage with staff and volunteers across our CFA locations – whether they be headquarters, districts or brigades.
I want to reinforce to our staff, there will be no job losses or redundancies.
CFA support services can be accessed here: http://www.cfa.vic.gov.au/about/fire-services-reform/#support
I also want to thank all staff and volunteers for their ongoing professionalism and dedication to providing a quality service to the Victorian community.
