Metcalfe grass fire
UPDATE @ 10.30am on Monday 31 December: Firefighters have contained the fire and will be on scene throughout the day making the area safe before the warmer weather conditions this weekend. The actual size of area burnt was difficult to measure due to the hilly terrain but it's estimated between 60 - 80 hectares.
An assessment flight over the scene will occur today to check for hot spots and possible property damage. At this stage however, there have been no reports of damage to assets.
Police are following up on the possibility that an escaped campfire caused the fire.
Sunday 30 December: A 200 hectare grass fire at Metcalfe is being controlled.
