Elizabeth Radcliffe from the EPA spoke at a press conference this morning on air quality impacts from the Latrobe Valley open cut mine fires.

Alongside mine personnel, more than 170 CFA and MFB firefighters continue to work around the clock on the fire.

Fire suppression efforts are focussed on areas of the mine that will minimise smoke effects for communities and firefighters, taking into account wind forecasts for coming days.

A community meeting will be held on Friday 14th February at 6.00pm at Kernot Hall, Princes Hwy, Morwell to provide an update on the open cut mine fires.
