A workshop to review the prototype hot fire training mobile props (the good and bad), and also to look at other mobile props options was held at Fiskville on Sunday 25 August.

The pilot trial of the prototype mobile props has now been running for over five months and has covered Northern & Western Metro, Eastern Metro, Southern Metro, Gippsland, Loddon Mallee and Hume regions. The feedback has been overwhelmingly good, with requests being made for more training with mobile assets and a greater variety of types of training.

At the workshop, over 20 volunteers from around the state provided a number of great suggestions about mobile props that would benefit training. The day culminated in working on more detailed designs for eight possible props.

The suggestions from the workshop will now be collated and used both to plan props to be purchased as part of the Mobile Training Infrastructure Project and to identify future mobile training needs.
