At 6:57pm on Monday 8 April 2013, Moe and Newborough brigades responded to a reported MVA on the Princes Freeway Moe.

While the crews were on-route VicFire stated they were proceeding to a car versus truck with possible persons trapped.

Once onscene crews confirmed there were no persons trapped and found a truck overturned and diesel fuel leaking from the tanks.

The driver of the car was taken to hospital by Ambulance and the driver of the truck escaped with only shock and minor injuries.

The freeway was closed eastbound for several hours while crews remained on scene cleaning up and all traffic was diverted through the township of Moe.
