More Vic fireys heading to NSW

A second contingent of Victorian firefighters and emergency services personnel has left for NSW today, Monday 21 October, to provide assistance during the state's bushfire emergency.

Acting Chief Officer Steve Warrington farwelled dozens of personnel from CFA, DEPI and Parks Victoria at Melbourne Airport, urging them to stay safe during their deployment.

They will replace hundreds of personnel who have been working tirelessly on the fireline in the Blue Mountains over the past four days, bringing Victoria's contingent of firefighters to around 600.

Today's departures also include a number of strike teams from who will travel north this afternoon by road.

Members from the following brigades have been deployed:

District 2

Mandurang, Heathcote, Axedale, Eaglehawk, Bendigo, Kangaroo Flat, Gisborne, Tylden, Mt Macedon, Riddells Creek, Woodend, Campbells Creek, Taradale, Castlemaine, Guildford, Kyneton, Malmsbury, Pastoria, Newstead

Pearcedale, Upper Beaconsfield, Phillip Island, Flinders, Patterson River, Dandenong, Clyde, Dromana, Hampton Park, Somerville, Tynong, Toomuc, Bayles

District 9
