Mornington & Mt Martha power surge
Residents of Mornington and Mt Martha north of Craigie Road and south of Bungower are being asked to return to their homes and check for damage following a suspected power surge.
CFA has been called to multiple incidents several of which have been reports of house fires and smells of smoke particularly in meter boxes and ceilings.
Strike teams have been arranged through local brigades in the area as well as support from integrated stations such as Patterson River and Dandenong.
CFA's Trevor Owen spoke to 3AW about the incident:
A staging area has been set up at Mornington Fire Station.
CFA is working with the power company to find the source of the power issues.
