Napoleons-Enfield CFA Sunday
On Sunday 24 November 2013, Napoleons-Enfield Fire Brigade participated in CFA Sunday to promote fire awareness. Although the weather was not kind, several members of the brigade worked hard to engage with the local community with fun activities that appeal to a range of diverse audiences.
The Fire Station was set up with lots of informative brochures to assist the community with preparing for the upcoming fire season and had tankers on display out the front.
A select group of members contacted the local primary school earlier that week to initiate a colouring competition with gift vouchers as 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes. The BBQ provided was a great enticement for the community to attend as well.
They were supported by Buninyong Fire Brigade who dropped by to assist with demonstrations before heading to Lake Wendouree for a Eureka Group CFA Sunday. The demonstrations consisted of a burn over drill and getting kids to use the hose to hit targets.
Napoleons-Enfield Fire Brigade responds to both bushfires and low-structure incidents. Despite the weather, they saw over 70 people come through during CFA Sunday which is a significant effort.
Great work to all Napoleons-Enfield members who made the day extremely successful and to the community for supporting their local fire brigade.
