The CFA National Emergency Medal schedule of nominations resulting from the 2009 Victorian bushfires campaign was submitted to the Australian Honours and Awards Secretariat (AH&AS) Canberra in September 2012.  CFA nominations, totalling 4,800 are currently being considered.

On February 18th, members of OT&V participated in a teleconference with the AH&AS to clarify a number of matters pertaining to the CFA schedule.   Discussions took place with regard to timelines for notification of outcomes to CFA and clarifying roles of members during the 2009 Victorian bushfires campaign.

CFA's Operational Training & Volunteerism Team anticipates receiving advice on the status of nominations in the near future, but no defined timeframe has been confirmed or provided by the AH&AS as to when we can expect to see an outcome.    Further information on the medal is available at Brigades Online > Running a Brigade > Service History & Awards > Honours and Awards or by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots.
