National Volunteer Week 2017
With National Volunteer Week (8-14 May) just around the corner, CFA has planned a wide range of activities and events to celebrate our volunteers’ achievements.
CFA is one of the world’s largest volunteer based organizations with more than 55,000 people from across the state and all walks of life giving their time to serve the community.
From brigades protecting small country towns to suburbia, and our highly trained specialist units, volunteers truly are the backbone of CFA. They provide the capacity and skills needed to let us serve almost two thirds of Victorians.
This year we’ll be saying “thank you” to volunteers with opportunities to see behind the scenes at the SCC and ESTA, participate in the Parade of Honour on the MCG - AFL Country game, take out the winning prize in the CFA National Volunteer Week photo competition and attend a variety of district celebrations.
We’ll also be highlighting stories that demonstrate the many hats our volunteers wear every day in volunteering roles, around the state.
So as National Volunteer Week approaches we’d like everyone in the community to join us in thanking volunteers for their selfless contributions.
